Free for work from October

I build the screens people use every day.

Front-end developer and interface designer in Kuala Lumpur. I work on the unglamorous parts — dashboards, forms, settings — and try to make them feel obvious.

What I'm useful for

Front-end build

React, TypeScript and whatever the project actually needs. I care about bundle size, keyboard access and the state you forgot to handle.

Interface design

Design systems, dashboards and the long tail of screens nobody puts in the pitch deck. Drawn in Figma, then built by the same person.

Making it faster

Taking an app that already exists and making it load in under a second. Usually the least glamorous work with the biggest payoff.

A bit about me

I started in a print studio setting type, which is a strange route into front-end but explains a lot about how I work: limited palettes, strong hierarchy, nothing on the page that isn't earning its place.

Since 2018 I've worked on products in agriculture, logistics and public services — mostly tools that people are required to use rather than choose to. That constraint is the interesting part. If someone has to look at a screen for six hours, the least it can do is make sense.

I write the front-end myself, so the design that ships is the design that was drawn. I'm happiest on small teams where I can talk to the people who use the thing.

Send a couple of lines about what you're building and when it needs to be live. If I'm not the right fit I'll usually know someone who is.
